Recently got my hands on an HTC Evo 4g thanks to Brad over at TechWebCast. I know the phone has been out a while, but it is still a major competitor in the smart phone game and offers some great specs. The Evo runs on Sprint’s 4g network and boasts a 1 GHz Scorpion processor, and nice 4.3 in TFT touch screen. Although it is not the best screens out there, it does the job well and colors are still nice and crisp. The phone itself is very snappy, although under-clocked a bit. Overclocking, of course, would be an option if the battery life was a bit better, and up for the task. I do suggest flashing a ROM that helps out with the battery life, and if you can do without the 4g speeds, then go with the MIUI ROM. MIUI is a great ROM with loads of customizable options such as hundreds of free themes which are a complete 180 from the stock Android look. Overall this is a great mid-range android device for almost any user, with a wide feature set. Lastly, It is also widely supported by several different ROM’s/Kernels for you to go “Hack Happy†on; that is if you can get past the fact that it is on Sprint’s network.\r\n
